Improve the shining moments; Don't let them pass you by,
Work while the sun is radiant; Work, for the night draws nigh.
We cannot bid the sunbeams To lengthen out their stay,
Nor can we ask the shadow To ever stay away.
Time flies on wings of lightning; We cannot call it back.
It comes, then passes forward Along its onward track.
And if we are not mindful, The chance will fade away,
For life is quick in passing, 'Tis as a single day.
Improve each shining moment. In this you are secure,
For promptness bringeth safety And blessings rich and pure.
Let prudence guide your actions; Be honest in your heart;
And God will love and bless you And help to you impart.
I started this post a week ago, but I can see that time is flying on wings of lightning and if we are not mindful, the shining moments may not be enjoyed and recorded and the chance will fade away. So, I am going to try to be prompt and post some final photos and thoughts in these last brief shining moments in Canada.
Mail is always a shining moment for missionaries. Having these sisters in the office is a shining moment for us. |
Reward for a clean apartment for Sisters Howell and Pizzey |
Sisters Vera and Christiansen at the office on their way to the French temple session. We loved joining them. Elder H. understands, I use the headset. |
Sister Sandra Harding arrives to take over the front desk and the most comfortable desk chair ever! So glad to have her and Elder Harding here. |
Our beloved Delly Trembley visiting the office and falling in love with a French copy of Gospel Principles |
Our district meetings got moved to the office to we can attend! Before transfers, our district included Sisters Brown, Sandberg, Howell, & Pizzey and Elders Clark, Steimle, Watson, & Widdup. |
Joann Chatham makes many shining moments in the mission with her cheerful assistance with meals at the mission home and keeping the office and the mission home "shining" clean. We love her. |
Sharon and Helen sang with our ward choir the last Sunday in September. It's easy to see they are related to their sister, Laurie Rice, from our Hunter 12th Ward in Utah. |
Sisters' dinner appointment. We did allow Elder H. to eat with us and take photos. Sister Leavitt and I are going to Skype with Sister Wiebe and all wear our adorable aprons. |
The MPW (Mission President's Wife), our much-beloved Sister Leavitt. |
Sisters Turner and Creager with the roll dough that flopped. The next batch resulted in some beautiful cinnamon buns for all the Halifax Sisters. |
Technology allows us to enjoy the shining moments of conference on the "small screen" in our apartment. |
We watched one session of conference at the church with members such as the MacLean's. |
